Illinois Department of Human Services On Line Training in Grant Writing

For no cost, the Illinois Department of Human Services, Office of Grants Administration is now providing grant writing training to not for profit agencies, all government agency staff, staff of agencies under contract with any state agency in Illinois, and interested individuals.

This training shows you how to effectively find, write and submit proposals for federal, state, local, non-governmental and private sector grants. If you want to learn the essentials of writing and acquiring grants, this training will help you.

There are three parts to each class. Each part is for one hour and thirty minutes and is held for three consecutive weeks on a Tuesday or Thursday from 1:00pm-2:30pm. Participants attend only once a week. No costs are incurred because individuals can participate at the work site or home by simply logging onto a computer and entering the virtual classroom. This training is not for individuals looking for grants for college and/or for businesses.

Registration is now open. From November, 2015 through August, 2016 is the busiest season for grant writers. This is the season when funders are releasing funding announcements. Therefore, you are strongly encouraged to register immediately as this training is on a first come first serve basis.

Network of Woodlawn and Woodlawn Health & Human Services Consortium are hosting "It's Time to Enroll" at four different locations, four different days and at four different times on the south side for the next several weeks. The Affordable Care Act better known as 'Obamacare' is an excellent opportunity for the uninsured to obtain the health coverage they deserve. An In-Person Counselor will be on hand to enroll the public at these events for consecutive weeks through the end of March:

They also develop leadership skills and gain a better understanding of the role they need to play as valuable contributors to the global community. Mentors volunteer for 2-3 hours every other Saturday.
